SATURDAY
![]() | Elmira Handmade Market - Small Business Saturday The Handmade Markets are a series of one day seasonal shopping venues to connect the community with local makers and artists. The first pop up holiday market was held in December of 2015 in the Chamberlain Acres gift shop with 3 local artists. At the time, opportunities for fine artisans to showcase and sell their work in Elmira were extremely rare. The tremendous support for that first pop up encouraged us to launch semi-annual handmade markets which support around 20 local makers via a juried application. Elmira Handmade Market events are run by makers for makers. |
![]() | Parade of Lights Watch as Market Street comes alive with around 50 dazzling entries, from marching bands and beautifully crafted floats to the grand finale, Santa Claus arriving in a horse-drawn carriage! Each float glows with brilliant lights, filling the Gaffer District with festive cheer. Families near and far have made this sparkling celebration a must-see event to kick off the holiday season! |
SUNDAY
![]() | The Nutcracker Ballet The 2025 Ithaca Ballet Nutcracker launches the holiday season at the Smith Center for the Arts. This year will feature Sonia Dvorak, recently soloist at the Vienna State Ballet as the Sugar Plum Fairy and cavalier Darwin Black who has danced with many reputable companies. Joined by the entire Ithaca Ballet company and dancers and guest children from around the region. |

Feeling Thankful 🧡
I’d like to take a moment to sincerely thank the Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes for wholly supporting FLXcalendar from the very start, when this was just another ambitious dream of mine. Because of Randi Hewit and the crew, FLXcalendar has been able to grow into what it is today and remain free of advertising. So a great big THANK YOU to Randi and everyone at the Community Foundation! You all are the best!
